REX supplies is a new mens online store based out of California offering up the best in mens accessories and style. The idea for the logo was to create a simple and bold logo design that retains masculinity through bold fonts/simplicity and simple shapes/lines. The end result is a simple monochromatic logo that can be printed single colour on white or blocked out on a single colour background. Two version were created, a landscape version and a stacked version.
We will be looking to expand on the branding with website/store, tags and more in the future, so more to come.
REX is looking to launch in the next few months so keep your eyes peeled over at www.rexsupplies.com
I recently bought a 1984 Volkswagen T3 Caravelle. This is it. It leaks oil and only gets about 250 kms per tank of fuel but what it lacks for in safety, reliability and practicality it makes up for in personality. Dad and I stripped the inside and built a bed/board storage and floor for the van, Dad had a T2 Kombi when he was my age whilst traveling solo around Germany and Europe and even though this isn’t nearly as cool, traveling down the surf coast in this thing is hard to beat.
I also bought a log. What’s happening to me?
Kids On Stoke is a very cool website and as I have discovered first hand, a very good way to waste time. There is interesting articles on all sorts of shit from waves & skate to girls & nintendo. The writing is engaging and firmly tongue in cheek and the site lord Jackson is one of the best guys you’ll ever meet. Yeh we designed the logo, but don’t let that put you off. Head over to WWW.KIDSONSTOKE.COM now and get lost.
Recently completed this series of logo’s for Adelaide band ‘The Skeleton Club’. The designs will be used for merchandise this year and printed one colour on tee’s and crew neck jumpers. The guys have created a truly unique and exciting sound so far in TSC and they wanted artwork that represented their personality well without pigeon holing them. if you are intrigued to hear what it’s all about head over to listen and download a couple of tracks from http://www.triplejunearthed.com/theskeletonclub. Great band to keep an eye on in the future.
Hope everyone had a great xmas/new year break and did plenty of whatever it is they enjoy doing at that time of year wether it be eating lots of food, getting stupidly drunk and inappropriate with your extended family, getting away from people camping and chilling or eating your face off surrounded by people at a festival… we hope you indulged to the fullest.
Now I’m going surfing. I wont be near a computer for a while so I suggest instead of contacting us about work you should do the same… Go surfing.
Decided to throw up a bit of a Work In Progress post on this last job of mine before the holidays. Bit of logo work for a new beer label startup being based out of the United States with ingredients sourced locally and from an area of Canada. Going for the real indie feel and playing on the north america/canada vibes…
Cover artwork we recently completed for Adelaide Pop-Punk band All year Round. There is a lot I like about this design, the simplicity, the symmetrical nature of the layout, the colors and the fact that I didn’t base the design around a book cover/pages/story theme. Single coming to iTunes in January.
First look at the artwork for new Melbourne band ‘Darling’. Look out for them coming up soon, there will be froth..
Let’s face it, things are slow to pick up after holidays are over and the reality blues sets in good. In order to combat this we are offering a week of cheap rates on all design jobs. I don’t know how cheap, maybe a little off, maybe a lot… maybe free who knows. If you are interested in getting anything done shoot through an email to us before the end of the week (Friday). Froth.
The month before I headed off to New Zealand was spend developing and designing this concept with Adelaide band Some Time Soon. It was refreshing for a band in the pop/punk scene wanting to go for a different approach to their image and artwork and not just blindly follow trends. It was a fun project and I’m sad to find out that the band has just called it a day and the EP and artwork will never be officially released as it was planned. I thought it a shame for it to go to waste so here it is anyway. The cover that never ran – Just Pretend.
Some work in progress from a logo design for Halcyon Beauty. Working with this colour scheme of about 5 earthy colours for a natural feel. Actual logo still needs more development and tweaks but getting there…
Merch design I recently designed for Melbourne Pop/Rock band For Our Hero. Was a concept around a song lyric, think it came out looking really cool. Custom typography/font and brushes in Illustrator.
Logo and corporate ID for a new Civil Engineering start-up from East Melbourne. Look out for ‘em stylin’ in high-vis jackets next time you’re rolling around.
We recently completed some album art for Melbourne pop/rock band hometown, it was a fun project to work on and all parties we stoked on the result. Here is a teaser we are using to promote the release of the EP. Look out for it in the near future. Full artwork will be posted upon release!
July has been a pretty slow month over here, although we have completed a few really cool projects, unfortunately I can’t post them yet until the client unveils them first. So in the meantime here is a pic of the waves I got this morning, one of the benefits of a quiet week! Cracking winters day on the Victorian coast.
Hopefully we should be posting some cool work in the next few weeks, stay tuned!
Quick promo banner for Madison’s new single “Trouble” – It’s so enjoyable/easy to design around a song with such an identity and feel to it. This snippet might give you a small insight into the song. Hand drawn custom font. Stay tuned for more very soon…
A slow work week coupled with a fairly consistant swell and favourable winds made the decision pretty easy for a busy week surf wise for us! Managed to score waves on the Great Ocean Road, Phillip Island and further down too. Snapped these few pics from the beach before each session.
The waves were on the last few days down the surf coast. Was lucky enough to get a few great early morning waves on Monday and snapped this picture of the early morning crew at Winki-pop on my way down the coast to surf a right hand reef further down the Great Ocean Road.
