I recently bought a 1984 Volkswagen T3 Caravelle. This is it. It leaks oil and only gets about 250 kms per tank of fuel but what it lacks for in safety, reliability and practicality it makes up for in personality. Dad and I stripped the inside and built a bed/board storage and floor for the van, Dad had a T2 Kombi when he was my age whilst traveling solo around Germany and Europe and even though this isn’t nearly as cool, traveling down the surf coast in this thing is hard to beat.
I also bought a log. What’s happening to me?
Kids On Stoke is a very cool website and as I have discovered first hand, a very good way to waste time. There is interesting articles on all sorts of shit from waves & skate to girls & nintendo. The writing is engaging and firmly tongue in cheek and the site lord Jackson is one of the best guys you’ll ever meet. Yeh we designed the logo, but don’t let that put you off. Head over to WWW.KIDSONSTOKE.COM now and get lost.
Hope everyone had a great xmas/new year break and did plenty of whatever it is they enjoy doing at that time of year wether it be eating lots of food, getting stupidly drunk and inappropriate with your extended family, getting away from people camping and chilling or eating your face off surrounded by people at a festival… we hope you indulged to the fullest.
Now I’m going surfing. I wont be near a computer for a while so I suggest instead of contacting us about work you should do the same… Go surfing.
July has been a pretty slow month over here, although we have completed a few really cool projects, unfortunately I can’t post them yet until the client unveils them first. So in the meantime here is a pic of the waves I got this morning, one of the benefits of a quiet week! Cracking winters day on the Victorian coast.
Hopefully we should be posting some cool work in the next few weeks, stay tuned!
A slow work week coupled with a fairly consistant swell and favourable winds made the decision pretty easy for a busy week surf wise for us! Managed to score waves on the Great Ocean Road, Phillip Island and further down too. Snapped these few pics from the beach before each session.
The waves were on the last few days down the surf coast. Was lucky enough to get a few great early morning waves on Monday and snapped this picture of the early morning crew at Winki-pop on my way down the coast to surf a right hand reef further down the Great Ocean Road.
I want one of these shapes from http://rakefoamshapes.com/ so bad! They look like ridiculous fun, twin or quad set ups on a board that looks like a mal cut in half. Have heard nothing but good things and just want to try one out asap. Might have to wait for the summer slop to roll around again though.
Oh, and also custom pigments and prints.
